Teenage Occultists of Dundarave
A piece of prep to create reference material for the Tunnelers Campaign,
for when the actions of a non-specified teenage occultist are prompted
by random encounter tables.
1. Riley Brewster (she/her, 16) wears an oversized naval coat that used
to belong to her grandfather, in the pockets of which she carries a
variety of brightly colored markers. She uses these to deface various
park benches and bathroom walls with sigils she found carved into a tree
deep in the woods. If she concentrates, she can draw the immediate
surroundings of any of these sigils. When doing so she likes to inhabit
the persona of pirate-sorcerer Captain Billy Sharkteeth (he/him), who
will influence her choice of name in a number of years when she learns
that being a trans man is possible.
2. Blake Short (he/him, 15) is convinced that God has chosen him to rid
Dundarave of a monster. He knows the ritual to consecrate a weapon. He
has yet to identify the monster he is tasked with destroying and fears
that he is too late.
3. Louis Dahlberg (he/him, 17) spends most of his time practicing the
guitar. He has also learned to store excess time, losing a minute or two
every day to be spent later. He has about 5 hours stored to be used
right now, and wants to save a full day’s worth, but occasionally
indulges himself in an extra hour of freedom from the turmoil in his
home.
4. Rose Persson (she/her, 14) feels the call of the soil. She can speak
to burrowing creatures. She thinks of herself as a witch resembling
those in stories her parents told her when she was little. She slowly is
learning the speech of other animals as well, because she feels bad
forcing them to speak English for her.
5. Dylan (he/him, 12) and Russel (he/him, 18) Priestly are never too far
apart, and able to see through the others eyes. The older Russel is a
wrestler and would put his life on the line to protect the small and
innocent Dylan. Dylan knows his brother is faced with the possibility of
leaving for college or disappointing the family, and feels conflicted
about it.
6. Ray/Rhea Constantine (she/her or he/him, 15) is gifted with a strange
sort of prophecy, the ability to recite lyrics of songs that have not
been written yet. He weaves these into conversations in order to sound
ominous and cryptic, qualities that are valuable to her.
